History
England got a lot more fun in 2004…
The idea was and still is to create an outdoor space where proper electronic music could be heard, danced to and totally loved, in a colourful, creative and non-corporate environment where you could really let go and express yourself.
From 2004 until 2008 the festival was held at the lovely Wasing Estate near Aldermaston in West Berkshire. It was a crazy success and quickly gathered a momentum that took everyone by surprise. Selling out in no time each year and taking the festival to a point where it had to move homes and then very sadly, in 2010, was cancelled. The beast had got too naughty….
In 2011 Glade was given new life, and some of the original team were joined by Secret Productions; the award winning company behind the Secret Garden Party. Kindred spirits, friends and family, this quickly cemented into a beautiful union, where creative forces met and combined, and incredible production values merged.
2011 also saw the festival find its new home, Houghton Hall. At last a permanent place which really could be called home. Where the owner, the local authorities and the local community support us and recognise that the Glade is a beautiful thing.
It did take a few nerve racking moments to get there but we so firmly believe in this that weren’t going to give in! For those that didn’t follow the story at the time we lost a venue just a few week before the show… Houghton Hall, like a 2000 acre angel, rescued us and we got the show together by the skin of our teeth…
So 2012… We’ve had a year to plan what last year we had a couple of weeks to pull together. If 2011 was what we can do in 3 weeks. Just see what we can do in a year! (See the video below….)
