Crime Reduction

As with any large gathering of people there is sadly always going to be a criminal element. Thankfully criminal activity is on the decline at Glade due to a robust security policy, and experienced security team, and a partnership approach with Thames Valley Police Authority. What is illegal outside the festival is illegal in the festival...

We are focusing a great deal of our attention on the perimiter to stop fence jumping and there will be searches on the gate. Anyone found inside the festival without a wristband will be removed and escorted away from the site...

Crime Reduction

We are blessed with a pretty savvy crowd and alot of this is common sense... So needless to say do not bring valuables to the Glade. You really don't need an ipod... What valuables you do bring don't leave in your tent! Keep your wallet, camera and so forth on you at all times. There is a FREE 24 hour lock up on site (please see site map with the free guide and programme).

If, in the unlikely event, you do become a victim of crime then do not resist and take a good look at what they're wearing or what they look like and report them to security or the police. There are over 400 Oxfam stewards and a team of over 100 security staff all on constant radio contact with the 24hr event control centre. They can relay messages instantly to the nearest relevant response team. Use them and please realise you are the eyes and ears of the event too so let them know if you see anything untoward...

And if you have a problem with security then make a note of their number or their name and report them to us.

This kind of thing, we hope, extremely unlikely to affect you but by you being aware then it helps us to eradicate this cancer from the festival.

Drug Policy

The Glade Festival does not condone the use or dealing of illegal drugs. It is illegal to buy, sell or take drugs and drug enforcement laws are as applicable at the Glade as they are outside. If you deal in drugs you run the risk of being arrested via security and handed over to the Police.

Drugs can kill. The crowds and size of the festival can be very frightening and disorientating and taking drugs could spoil your enjoyment of the event. If you do take drugs and you become ill, depressed or frightened please ask a steward to direct you to the welfare facility on site which can help and support you.
